How Apple Can Make OTA Updates in IOS 5 a Success

Rumor has it that Apple may finally be prepared to cut the cord with iOS 5 and introduce over the air (OTA) updates that don’t require a physical USB connection to a PC. It sounds like an awesome step forward, and it would help the iPad live up to its “post-PC era” title, but only if Apple does it right.

Bye-bye landlines: Verizon device accesses wireless; Tests will tell if home phones can connect to network (video)

For Connecticut consumers who might be inclined to cut the cord to save money, but are not totally comfortable with ditching their trusted landline phones, Verizon Wireless is running a statewide test of a new device the company calls Home Phone Connect.

Google Voice could end two-year cellphone contracts

The time to cut the cord could be very soon. Google could easily unplug the two year contracts offered by Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint with its most recent move. Read post on OC Unwired.
